Engaged: Michelle & Pierre

A few weeks ago, the same weekend as my two last weddings of the season, I managed to find time to shoot Michelle and Pierre’s Engagement Session at the Irving Park in Bouctouche.

I had just met them a few weeks before that for our initial consultation so this was only the second time I was seeing them. Michelle and Pierre are very nice people and we hit it off from the beginning, which is important if we are to get great pictures as you will see below.

If you recall my “Weekend’s Preview” post, I mentioned that I would have to explain myself on a funny little story that went on during the whole session. First, as a little clarification, I normally always deal with the bride. She will be the one inquiring about my services, all the emails will be between her and I, if I need to call the couple, I will usually speak with the bride, etc. Therefore, I always know the bride better then the groom (sometimes I only meet the groom at the engagement session!). Sooooo, it’s only normal that I know the bride’s name without any hesitation. When I get to a shoot, I always give directions the couple, telling them where we are going to start the pictures, where to stand, what to do, etc. The first time I say the groom’s name, I always do a double take in my head, asking myself “OMG, was that really his name? I hope it was!”, even though I know that’s what it is! Well this time around, everything went the same way: I called her Michelle and called him Pierre. But that’s pretty much were it ended!  Throughout the whole session, I kept calling him Marc. Don’t ask me why, I just did! I told him I was so sorry and didn’t understand why I was saying it! So numerous times we joked about it and sometimes I would say Marc, just to be funny. Well at the end of the session, he tells me that I called him Marc a lot of times without even noticing! lol

We started the session with their cute little dog. I don’t think he liked my camera; he didnt’t stay too long!

This is actually the very same spot where Pierre proposed to Michelle. We decided to take a few shots on the bench where it happened!
