Pays de la Sagouine Wedding – Monique & Julien

Monique & Julien got married on a hot and sunny day in Bouctouche, complete with familiar faces, future clients, beautiful locations and live butterflies. Yes, live butterflies. Monique had mentioned it quickly in a Facebook message following  our final phone consultation but I didn’t put much thought into it. At some point during the getting ready portion of the day, Monique’s mom asked if I wanted to take photos of the butterflies. Being curious, of course I said yes! She pulled out a box from the fridge and took out paper envelopes, each holding a sleeping butterfly (because of the cold). She placed a few on Monique’s shoes and they just stayed there, asleep. After a few minutes, you could tell they were becoming a bit more agitated so they had to go back into their respective envelope and finally in the cold again.

I don’t really know where I was going with that story, but I guess it’s because it was a first for me, I just had to share the details! Once the “I do’s” were said and done, Monique and Julien released the butterflies by opening the box after the church ceremony.

All in all, it was a great day surrounded by awesome people. Congratulations to Monique & Julien! I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon in Europe!
