As soon as I finished shooting Claudine and Guy’s wedding on the Friday, I got home, charged my batteries, backed up the files and got my equipment ready for the next morning. This was my first “double wedding weekend” as main photographer and I was a bit nervous! In the end, all went very well and I was off to shoot Ghislaine and Jean-François’ wedding!
This wedding was a bit different for me for a few reasons. First, I had not shot an engagement session with this couple and I had only met Jean-François once briefly. Second, I usually start the day by photographing the girls while they get ready, etc. This was my first time arriving at the church and seeing the bride for the first time on her big day. Let me tell you, she was one of the prettiest brides I have ever seen! Her dress was just gorgeous and a perfect fit for her. Even though it was not my “typical” wedding, everything went very smoothly and they were great to work with!
Off to the photos now! As I mentioned, we started off the day at church. (On a side note, good job on the reading, Crystal! :P)
Following the ceremony, close friends and family headed over the Gabriele Restaurant in Shediac for lunch. While everyone was eating, I took a few shots of Ghislaine’s bouquet as well as the rings.
Here is a shot of Ghislaine and one of Jean-François…
After lunch, the wedding party and I went over to the old train station in Shediac for a few group shots and couple shots. The rain stopped just as we got there, so that was great!
I love how romantic this shot feels:
Once we got at the house, Bay, Ghislaine and Jean-François’ dog, was waiting for us for a little family shot! After that, there were some really nice fall colors so we just had to take a few extra shots of the couple!
After a little break, it was time to head over to The City Grill in Moncton for the reception. It was my first time at this venue for a wedding. I had been there a few times for supper and really enjoyed the food (the prime rib is excellent, btw!). However, I had never been on the second floor where the reception was held. What a great place to have a cocktail style reception! The place looked amazing and the food seemed even more so! The staff was very friendly and I could tell the guests were really enjoying themselves.
Finally, I will end with a picture from the couple’s First Dance.
I know I say this EVERYTIME, but it’s because it’s true! You guys were great to work with and I really enjoyed being part of your special day. Again, congratulations and I wish you a wonderful life filled with love and happiness!
