It all started last year with Nancy & Christian’s wedding, where both Renelle and Joey were in the wedding party. I remember being in the big party bus with everyone and Renelle coming up to me asking if I shoot destination weddings. Excited, but not wanting to get my hopes up, said yes and told her to contact me. After discussing all the details, it was a go and my trip to Mexico was booked!
I think I started a countdown when there was still over 100 days to go; I was really looking forward to shooting a wedding at such a beautiful place. When we arrived at the Grand Sunset Princess in the Riviera Maya, it was even more beautiful than it was the first time I had been there (about 4 years ago). We had the whole week to “relax” and enjoy the sun before the couple would get married on the Friday. When the big day came, the sun was shining bright and everyone was ready for the beach-side ceremony.
Everything went perfectly that day and I’m so glad I had the chance to experience it. Not only the wedding, but the whole trip was fun and it was great to see lots of familiar faces in the group. Thanks again to Renelle and Joey for making this happen and once again, congratulations!
PS – To anyone considering having a destination wedding: DO IT! (Oh – and make sure to send me an email… my passport is ready!)
