Christelle & Al’s wedding – 91 Horatio New York City

Christelle & Al took the term “destination wedding” to a whole new level when they planned their New York City wedding!

I remember a while back (it must have been last year) when they told me about their plans to get married in NYC. A typical hotel ballroom wedding was not what they envisioned for their special day but the usual “down south” locations weren’t what they were looking for either. Who would have thought of NYC? Clearly, they did. And I am so grateful to have been invited not only as a friend but to capture it forever.

On July 2nd, a bus full of around 45 people made their way to New York for a trip filled with visits, shopping, good laughs and of course the wedding. We were there a few days before, so we got the chance to get some touristy things done, not to mention the Macy’s July 4th fireworks which were incredible.

Came the wedding day and everyone was very excited to get the day going. The girls started getting ready very early with the help of Jenna (hair) and Amanda (makeup) who were a blast to be around. We had a few laughs packed in the small room while listening to old music that brought back memories (cue Josée & Annie for our song here!).

Once the girls looked beautiful and the guys handsome, we headed into town for the first look and portraits at the locations Christelle & Al had picked during their wedding planning trips the months before.

Later in the evening, it was time to head over to 91 Horatio for the ceremony and reception. I can’t say enough about how amazing this venue is. From the staff to the service they provide and the food they serve, I can see why it is a popular spot for fashion events, product launches and various upscale events. Joanna, the event planner, made sure everything was just perfect and it truly was. The wedding officiant, Tulis McCall, made sure no one had a dry eye during the emotion filled ceremony. Finally, the night was kept alive by everyone dancing to DJ Shiran’s music. It was a night I will never forget, as I’m sure no guest will either.

Thanks again to Christelle and Al for giving me a chance to be a part of this beautiful wedding and week. Best wishes for a life filled with love and happiness!
